Blacktown Solar City Businesses Make a Difference

Big Switch Projects have announced that Mercedes Benz Commercial has signed up as the 17th participant of the Blacktown Solar city Business Energy Efficiency Program (BEEP).

While the residential installation phase of the Blacktown Solar City rapidly reaches completion, the Blacktown business community has also shown it’s willingness to make a difference with its participation in the Blacktown Solar City project. Mr Gilchrist says the unique site is unlike anything in the program so far and will provide interesting energy analysis. Jody McGann, the Blacktown Solar City Project Manager, has been impressed with the enthusiasm shown by the Blacktown community for the government funded Blacktown Solar City project.

“We have been literally overwhelmed by the take up of residential offers in Blacktown and now with the sign up of the 17th BEEP participant we can say that the enthusiasms is a reflection of the overall community’s commitment to the future of Blacktown.”

Jody says that the success of both the commercial and residential programs will make Blacktown Solar City the first of the seven solar cities to complete the installation phase, a fact the Blacktown community has every right to be proud of. The project itself moves onto a monitoring and information gathering phase, which runs through to 2013.
